Co-op lovers rejoice! Gearbox has revealed Borderlands, a sci-fi RPG/FPS hybrid with full four-player co-op support, vehicular combat and a content generation system, that will bring you "near-endless variety" in mission, environment, enemy, weapon, item and character customization.
Gearbox president Randy Pitchford revealed Borderlands today and 2K Games announced that it will publish the game.
Road Warrior Mania
The Road Warrior theme is hot right now, days after id Software announced it's new, Mad-Max-inspired game, Rage, Gearbox Software (Brothers in Arms) has revealed Borderlands, which Game Informer describes as "Diablo meets Mad Max."
In addition to their similar theme, the games both feature cooperative play, Role-Playing elements with upgrades, vehicular combat and vehicle and character customization. Comparison is inevitable, Rage has it's MegaTexture, allowing non-repeating textures and a huge, open world, but then again, the content generation system in Borderlands might prove to be a real pot of gold.
