Some people are having trouble installing the Crysis demo, here are some trouble-shooting for common installation problems.
Nothing happens when I run the Crysis demo installer
Symptoms:
- Clicking the Crysis installation file and nothing happens, but an installation process shows up in the Windows Task manager.
- Starting the Crysis installer opens a command prompt that instantly closes again.
Fix: The Crysis demo installation-file is a zip-archive, right click it and manually extract the files, make sure you have enough space on your C:\ drive for the temporary files (about 2GB).
Crysis demo artifacts on ATI cards
Symptoms:
- Strange visuals and graphic bugs when running ATI's 7.10 Catalyst driver
- Yellow checkboard artifacts all over the screen.
- Common with the Radeon X1900 and x1950.
Fix: Reset any overclocking on your graphics card.
Fix2: Uninstall Catalyst 7.10 and install Catalyst 7.9.
Fix3: Uninstall Catalyst 7.10 and install Omega drivers.
Crysis demo artifacts on NVIDIA cards
Symptoms:
- Textures not displaying right or other graphic corruption.
- Yellow checkboard artifacts all over the screen.
Fix: Try installing Nvidia Beta Drivers
Installation Crysis Demo on Windows Vista doesn't create any shortcuts
Symptoms:
- The installation runs, but Crysis demo doesn't show in your Games Explorer
Fix: Open Explorer and go to: C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis SP Demo\Bin32\Crysis.exe or Crysis64.exe
Fix2: If the above directory doesn't exist, try the tip at the top, "Nothing happens when I run the Crysis demo installer"
