The Crysis technology incorporates many rendering techniques previously only seen in off line renderers. Here we have summarized Crysises technology highlights with accompanying screenshots of them in action.

Realtime radiation (where light bounces off surfaces)

Full scene motion blur


Volumetric clouds


Transparent leafs


Interactive vegetation

Trees can be shot down and branches move when you brush against them.

Improved water rendering


Day / Night cycles and Haze effects


Real-time soft shadows

Even trees and plants cast soft shadows.

High Dynamic Range Lighting (HDR Lighting)

Notice how bright it is outside when your virtual eyes are used to the light in the shed.

Soft particles

Soft particles make more realistic fire-, explosion- and smoke effects.

Enemy AI
Enemies will use even more realistic tactics than in Far Cry, taking cover, calling for backup and smoking you out from buildings using grenades.

These are the most important new technologies in Crysis, to help us get an even more immersive jungle experience.
