Oblivion FPS tweak - Same graphics quality
People have reported in increased FPS of up to 40% by just changing a few setting in the Oblivion ini-file.
One gamer reported an FPS increase from 30 FPS to 45 FPS on average with the same graphics quality, with this machine:
CPU: P4 3.4 Ghz
RAM: 2GB
GFX: 6800 GT
Open the ini-file located in:
My Documents\My Games\Oblivion\Oblivion.ini.
Make a backup of Oblivion.ini before editing it in case anything goes wrong.
Find thease lines and change them to the following values:
[OPENMP]
iThreads=20
iOpenMPLevel=20
iPreloadSizeLimit=1000000000
Save the file and start Oblivion and you should experience a nice performance boost.
