Oblivion in Widescreen mode
To get Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion to run in widescreen mode, all you need to do is select a widescreen resolution when you configure oblivion.
Widescreen resolutions can be, for example 1920x1200.
Check out our list of widescreen resolutions if you are unsure.
What about Aspect ratio?
Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion will automatically set a widescreen aspect ratio when you choose a widescreen resolution, so you will get a wider view.
Aspect ratio is the relation between width and height of the viewing field. If you view a normal 4:3 aspect ratio on a Widescreen monitor, the image will appear stretched.
The widescreen resolution I want is not in the list
Sometimes widescreen resolutions supported by both the graphics card and the monitor are missing due to driver settings. The Good news (if you are on a Windows OS) is that we have a guide on how to add your own resolutions.
